So you'll be unlikely to find any legal recourse through the courts, and in fact you may end up having charges brought against you (most likely "obtaining a good or service using a false name"). 

What will they do with the proceeds?

My brother wanted his money out of the commercial deal so I bought his share for $10,500 using some of the proceeds from our house sale.
