But I began this reply with IF, because if they are all cash-flow positive, I would personally not seek to pay any of them off early (depending on your age), and instead save that money to put towards obtaining additional properties.

So, both my wife and I are full time W2 employees and are in the 24% tax bracket, and I came across the short-term rental loophole which sounds really amazing for taking write offs and using them to reduce your W2 taxable income, but also equally difficult to qualify for, unless you are within a short driving distance to your property.

For example, I have been informed from a couple of banks that even though my current Airbnb totally offsets the mortgage, they will not take the income from the property towards the DTI calculations but rather take the gross income from the Taxes filed and consider the mortgage amount as an expense, which was hard to understand.
