I want to change the change the trajectory of our financial future.

My {soon to be} 6-year old is on a similar trajectory.  

The market hasn't changed its trajectory in Coastal North Carolina from Jacksonville, NC to Wilmington, NC areas including the Camp Lejeune USMC military members.

TLDR; I'm 22 and left a pretty promising career trajectory to become a full time RE agent / investor. 

If we don't take a swing in the next year or two, I think the rest of our lives will be fairly predictable, and rolling the dice in an intelligent fashion to put a new trajectory on things sounds attractive to each of us.

Which is why I plan to look into the Spokane market, where the RE values are not as over inflated compared to what fundamentals say is solid, RE positively cash flows, and there seems to be a lot more upside potential as that city is turning and seems to be on a good trajectory long term.

Charlotte is more established in this sense, so I think Raleigh's trajectory is closing the gap with respect to Charlotte, although a slow one.

Given that you have a comfort level here (I presume you have some family and friends in the area) and surely have some historical reference of your own for the trajectory of certain areas, on top of it being a great entry level market, I say dig in to RDU.

It only takes one mentor to change the trajectory of your life. 

The key here is to identify which areas are on a long term upward trajectory, which areas are stagnant, and which areas are having serious issues.
