At this point in time while I appreciate your recommendation to build,  I have no interest in continuing to be invested in Cape Coral and was simply inquiring about local retail market conditions. 

Would almost have to think it is someone that used to be in the industry to even understand how warehouse funding facilities work etc.  

Does anyone have recommendations as for how to get "experience" in the industry without necessarily taking on a project entirely on my own?

Working on a small multi tenant industrial deal where there are a few tenants have leases that are missing information such as term, lease end date.

Hopefully you at least built some good industry relationships while going through this exercise.  

I am aiming to connect with other real estate investors and people in the real estate industry.

There are industry specific rules on using a co-signer for real estate. 

I've built my network through different industries but real estate is a common theme in our investment strategies.

But honestly, almost all those vendors off that list were competitively priced and great to work with.Recommendation: if you know at least one credible vendor who's been in the industry a while, ask them for their list.
