I have homeowner's/hazard insurance on the property through my mortgage, but I do not have any additional landlord insurance or other coverages.  

I believe with most carrier sin OK you're looking at minimal 1% deductible for wind/hail with some going up to 5% of the dwelling amount.I have people ask me all the time if they can just remove the wind/hail coverage and I have to remind them that covers more than just their roof. 

BTW: someone mentioned that PMC's should have GL insurance coverage.

It was difficult to find an insurer to finally provide full coverage at under $2k, about double normal rates for my area.

@Joshua Jacobs I think you maybe referring to a DSCR or Debt Service Coverage Ratio loan if you're looking for a 30 year fixed mortgage.

Now you have a situation where you could have two insurance carriers fighting over who is going to pick up coverage.
