I've found that to be a sweet spot, but it's taken time, discipline, and a helluva lot of networking to build the team to do it.

I get having airbnbs near lakes, beaches, tourist spots etc.

When I was in my 20s and 30s, it was easy to get a hotel room or rental home, spot on the beach, table at a restaurant, and traffic was a nonevent. 

Permissive ADU laws are a bright spot in CA, since they allow more ways to generate income from a property.

The existing pond should be plenty compared to our 8 acre spot and its pond. 

I know trailers are very popular and even considered renting out spots.

Inventory is still short, so maybe we just perma-stagnate for a couple years :(I am in the same spot, sitting on cash.
