It seems like you could get even more good ones if you were to decline the first batch completely.Check how much they've learned about independent living if this is their first move out from their parents houses. 

I like the suggestion of cherry picking a few of the houses out of the batch.

If you're right then 100% of the condos are owned by one person and you'd be buying all of them in one 'batch'.
