It would seem that in a lawsuit, a good attorney could argue that if the loan is in your name, but the property is in the LLC, there is no legal separation between you or the LLC and therefore the LLC could be disregarded.

I was under the impression, as a newbie, the LLC would protect my personal assets in the event of a lawsuit, IF I keep personal funds and LLC funds/bills separate.

Anyone who has the balls to obtain a key from a friend and move into a vacant house is not going to be concerned with threats of lawsuits, unpaid rent, utilities, etc.
