We did look at one, but it was the lower level of an old hotel!  

My Amex bill is frequently over $100k a month - Amex is trickier as a charge card but it does give you a month "float" and the rewards are unbeatable.Last year went to Europe and Dubai in first class and stayed in 5 star hotels

The small firm I was with in Michigan we put together the deal for Edgewater Resources to get all the land needed for the PGA Harbor Shores Golf Course and Hotel.

Currently, short-term rentals are prohibited in the residential zones of Daytona, they are only allowed in the T1 Zone (which is on A1A near the hotels-there are only 24 legal short term vacation rentals in Daytona). 

If I got a property manager it'd be a wash with the hotel thing.

About a year ago, I attended one of those free seminars held at a ritzy downtown Chicago area hotel.

I'll be there around 5pm at the restaurant in the hotel next door.

Knowing what I know now...I would put the money in hotels.

They have some old grandfathered laws, and the hotel industry owns the elected officials and does not want to share with the STR community of private owners.

@Bob Mastroianni Actually, the building was built in 1890, and in the 1920's, the upstairs was converted into a hotel (well, brothel).
