It's bad, in that it lacks the historic and rich character that so many early century east side and near-downtown neighborhoods have, with beautiful 100 year old houses full of character that have been well-cared for maintained.

@Andy Gross I find DC quite interesting, as it was super overvalued at 2007 peak (54% vs historical price/income relationship), yet the subsequent price correction there was only 12%.

For one thing, with historically high valuations, the timing is pretty bad to make new REIT investments, at least from my perspective.Beyond that, the concerns I share are one argument, and not applicable to everyone.

The neighborhoods on the east side of Dixie in this same area are very expensive ($1m-$15M homes) and are experience a boom of building due to large lot sizes and no historical restrictions on many homes.
