When I compare what I see on TV with what I paid 5 years ago to a GC my cost seemed quite high.  

The team from the TV show flip or flop, she is a licensed realtor.   

I have always be intrigued by the house flipping shows on tv and still have done nothing towards it. 

It could very easily have an ARV of over $50,000 so you're really comparing apples to oranges.

Or, like on all the TV shows, do you go to the store with the contractors and point out what you want?

It is not what you see on TV.

I look forward to seeing how your project progresses and what the numbers look like.There was a hoarder house that @Brian Burke purchased (cat litter house) that is probably the worst I have seen here on BP, but yet on par with those houses you see on the "reality" TV series about hoarders.Looks like if you get a hoarder house for the right price (next to nothing?)
