I'm curious about it and wondering if it's a smart move.

I moved from Florida to Columbus and invest in multiple markets here in Ohio.

Our family currently lives in a 2,303 sf home and we are looking into moving into something smaller 500-700 sf home.

Live in a multifamily and fix it up while living there then just hold on to it and not sell...move on and rinse/repeat.

Do you think the trend will move up to the north side with the new beltway?

Think about multi-tenant office buildings where the interior is reconfigured, combined and separated as needed every time a new tenant moves in.  

I have seen it before with a few of my clients that they were able to utilize a Sec. 721/1031 transfer to move the assets into a REIT or other similar activity depending on the type of business.

You could do what most people I see do and let whoever Padsplit presents move in.

We had to correct many of the structural problems on the house and move a couple of things around on the layout.

It does have some consequences so research it and be very aware before you make this move.
