PHX is more recession proof and I am actually looking to purchase another home myself.Also it's important to note that the California wealth effect is real with corporate tax being 3x what it is in CA compared to AZ - a lot of companies and businesses are relocating to AZ.Basically with more and more research, I have identified AZ as my next investment compared to OH with better long term appreciation and aligns better with my goals which are similar to yours.

You have to create two entity and rent it out to your startup (a corporation) to get the deduction of both. 

The general answer for this type of question would be: wherever you can get the strongest protection paired with the least cost (financial cost and corporate maintenance requirements.)

Now, from what I've gathered, an S Corp or an LLC filing as an S Corp is the best move.

Oh, and they sit in those awful corporate like meetings, where nothing ever gets accomplished.

I am a new to bigger pockets, but your post stuck out to me because I am from Farmington CT :) I'm happy that you have found success in that area, I was afraid the market was going down hill with all the major corporations moving away because of higher taxes etc.
