In a nutshell: finance 5-20 houses/duplexes/tri/condos/apartments, have my renters pay off my mortgage, collect a small amount of income on top of that, wait 20 years(if i dont refinance) and sell building for pure profit after appreciation and inflation.I'm sure many people have thought this thru, put blood sweat and tears into it and could not come out on top.

What is the most realistic way that I can be able to have a house down in Massachusetts that I can live in when I am not in school and still have ownership rights and possibably collect rent while I go back to school in Syracuse?

I'm considering having a newer realtor/realtor's assistant do this for me or a reputable PM company do it for a discounted rate.One thing that I've found instrumental is to collect all rent electronically.  

I am currently collecting somewhere around $2000 from each property.
