I liked that idea so much I cash in some reward points from my credit card for Amazon gift cards and purchased 100 books from Amazon.

That is not the case at all unless they have a number of credit cards they max out.

I cancelled and they continued to rack up credit card charges to the tune of $2,070.  

I finished paying off my credit cards earlier this year, and I'm left with student loans as my only debt.
