I recently met a couple who transfered in from kansas , they wanted a 4 bed colonial in good schools , newer in the $ 250K range , similar to where they moved from .

In RI,  the DEM has to approve septic plans so if you have a similar agency they may have a record too and as of last year in RI you can't have a cesspool so anything new is a septic.I don't know in NY but in some states on property transfer you need to get a septic inspection but make sure you know what that means.
