Definitely gave me confidence talking to lenders because I knew even if the conventional way did not work out, we’d have another great alternative route to pursue. 

If you're looking to have control of the funds for less than that, you'll want to use an alternative lender, like a portfolio lender which uses DSCR to evaluate the loan, and really doesn't care where your money is coming from.

I don't think I've ever seen irrigation on the land, and you're right, the farmer alternates each year between corn and soybeans.
