That house was from selling a previous house (2004)... which was from a 1033 that I was too niave to fight (2003) that was originally purchased in 2000.Here is where it starts... end of 2009, saved 50k from side hustles/living frugal, purchased a $265k SFR for rental. 2011, saved 50K from hustling and pruchases a $200k SFR for rental. 3 babies later and lots of bad financial choices, 2015 barely saved 30K and purchased a $330k major fixer SFR to live in because we lost oir house to foreclosure.

Since then, everyone and their brother have become real estate investors and we’re all fighting for the same good deal.

And like all states we do have a system to fight your taxes but for the most part the local towns have spent a LOT of money and time over the past 10 years making sure that existing building measurements and building materials inside homes are accurate so there’s really not much wiggle room to fight your taxes.

These guys will fight to keep revenue so stories like this is pure hyperbole.

All the NY investors are probably too busy fighting to evict deadbeat tenants who have more rights than the landlord😜 or perhaps they’re busy fighting the city over something that wouldn’t even be an issue in most other places.

It's not worth the fight for an unknown party for 1 month of rent.

Based upon the information provided, I agree that it is highly unlikely that a judge would uphold the 60 day notice and in truth it is not worth fighting. 

there is a pending suit by a bunch of landlords , but fighting city hall is pretty tough .
