I gross around $110,000 per year in rent and pocket about $3,200 / month depending on how many expenses I have.My goal is to achieve financial freedom soon.

We agree on the goal, but how to get there?

The amount of knowledge is overwhelming, but I'm hanging in there.My 401k and Roth used to be my rock, literally my goal to becoming financially independent, but I'm seeing now how thin simply maxing out a Roth account is for me as a plan.

My husband and I just started investing in Multi family, our goal is to acquire 2-3 properties in the next 12 months.Meanwhile, I know there are many Chinese investors and new immigrants buying US properties as primary residence or investment .

As a retirement plan, the Solo 401(k) is vastly superior, with significantly higher contribution capacity, the ability to make Roth contributions of up to $18K per year with no income limitations, etc.Depending on your ability to contribute, and therefore how quickly you can amass some working capital, you may choose to start with a fully self-directed Solo 401(k) or you may choose to establish a low-cost brokerage Solo 401(k) that would be limited to investing in stocks, funds, etc. for the near term.
