Some of the things that can give you issues getting coverage for these types of policies:- Knob & Tube or Aluminum wiring- Flat Roofs- Tentants with prohibited types of dogs - Pre 1980's homes that do not have a Lead Safe certificate- Underground Tanks (active or inactive)These are just some of the underwriting issue we see.  

In general I feel the best thing is to avoid places without lead certifications. 

Ideal would be people with certification and a guarantee on insurance policy.

I don't know if anyone touched on this yet, but Section 8 will require lead certificates on all of the units before renting them.
