And of course, the building isn't wired for separate meters.So in my head there are only two obvious conclusions: guess how much electricity they will use and set rent accordingly -or - meter or monitor their use somehow and charge them separately for the electricity.There are a few circuit monitoring product's on the market for around $600 that seem feasible, has anyone used something like this?

It's in the best interest of the landlord to make sure tenants stay current with all of their utility bills.If the rental agreement clearly states it's the responsibility of the tenants to maintain water utility service and they get a shut off notice, the landlord needs to address this immediately with the tenants as a lease violation.If the two tenants are in separate dwelling units, the landlord should either get the utilities separately metered, or include the utilities with the rent and pay for them.
