I wouldn't worry too much about adding a third dog, even a puppy, as it sounds like they are responsible people and didn't try to hide anything from you.Personally, I'd send them a note stating something like: I'm not thrilled with the idea of a third dog living there, but I understand the situation.

there is a long thread going right now on the risk you take using IRA money to buy fixed assets.being the bank is more appropriate as long as you pick good notes.. what happens when you landlord in a IRA you cant commingle personal funds with the IRA asset so you get a bad tenant that does lots of damage you cant use personal funds to fix it.. so if you are going to use IRA to buy you need much larger amounts of cash left in the IRA for any unforeseen expenses.

We got notes from investors and so did my brother back then, we ignored them all as it's inappropriate in these situations to tell the owner "you'll be dead soon, and I just can't wait for my money".
