And I don't mind the occasional repairs,  it will give me something to do.   

But roasting in texas and the occasional break down were starting to wear on me.

I can take occasional trips into the City at that point.I do think some days I could be retired in much of the rest of the country. 

They are now all 75+ with only social insecurity and small pensions as income.An extravagance for them is a weekend drive a few hours away and they are very limited. 

With the possibility of more occasionally.

Big difference between that and someone took 10 years to save the 100k and regeneration of excess capital is 2k a month so would take over 4 years to get back to the same place again.I have some clients that occasionally take on higher risk stuff.

Very occasionally, a few dollars every few years,always targeting the best odds by staying in stateand buying tickets for the lowest jackpots.

We drive modest cars because they get us from A to B and driving luxury vehicles brings us no joy, but we like going on vacation from time to time and going out for drinks and nice dinners occasionally.

We pay for all utilities including water, electricity, trash and occasionally maintenance and thankfully we've had decent people occupying these units. 

David Greene's book is helpful but I imagine an occasional trip to the area would be beneficial.
