@Michael Dumler the issue I have with this is it would imply that I could go sell my property without a CO, not disclose anything, and completely wipe my hands free of it with no worry of buyer recourse.

The other issue if another tenant is behind on the rent, you try to evict, a legal aid lawyer would insist that the illegal tenant in the illegal unit must be evicted first, due to landlord having unclean hands, and the court would usually agree.

Good morning I recently purchased my first investment property and currently looking for a tenant I talked with a couple of investers who told me that they were scammed by people who passed background and credit checks using fake identities I am wondering if anyone has encountered this and is there anything in place to protect against this action that seems to be on the rise
