I just turned 18, and I was on my way to becoming a registered nurse, but I found out about real estate investing by email from rich dad education.

Im not trying to get rich quick, or make money for nothing, I am really wanting to shift my foucus and begin a lifelong career of rehabing and investing.

I'm an officer in the Marine Corps, I can afford most things I desire while living in awesome San Diego, no financial stressors, a career and Im sitting on a ship in the middle of the ocean for the next 6 months lol I'm not a super excited 22 year old who just read Rich Dad and is about to run down to the nearest sheriffs sale so I can buy the first house I see cuz he told me I can flip it for 50k.Thats what I was saying, option the house for a price that includes a moderate amount for the several years appreciation.

I just noticed that Rich Weese just met the 5,000 forum post milestone here on BiggerPockets.

For a while there, every guru was promoting getting rich with Bulk REOs and everyone who posted that stuff was full of crap.

It's sold by gurus as a get rich quick business that anyone can do, which it is not.I am not trying to discourage you but more want to make you aware of the reality.

For all the newbies reading...it is possible with a good plan, hard work, and perseverance...the get rich quick schemes do NOT work!
