The longest vacancy we've had was 2 months, due to our old property manager charging us for turnover, but when we came to check why it hadn't rented, there were cupboards full of food, bedroom door missing, no carpet cleaning, etc.

@Dusty Laurin As long as you do not run your AirBNB as a hotel, which means that you provide services like daily cleanings and food service (like a Bed & Breakfast), then your AirBNB is treated as a rental property just like a long-term rental.As @Michael Plaks mentioned, there are quite a few good real estate accountants on this forum.

I can tell you from 20 years of both corporate (IBM, ConAgra Foods, HP, Ricoh) and agency recruiting, that your real estate investing experience will not matter on your resume unless the skills and experience you have are directly relevant to the job requirements.You can add it as a talking point, but I would not spend much time on it unless it has job relevancy (property management, acquisitions, etc).Good luck on the gig hunt!
