But, they'll still hold you to the standard of getting everything done quickly.Yup, it's a double standard, but that's the price buyers pay to get REO properties at a big discount (hopefully).Btw, you should verify that you have the option to "walk away" and get your earnest money back.

Buyer "working" on property in contract phase

I would like to let him know (although as you say, he may have approved the other buyer to do this) and say that we know that this is taking place, if they are interested in dealing with it, then they need to verify this information themselves (maybe take a look at the property and see what changes have taken place) but we want to stay out of it because they could be our new neighbors.

Our issue is we would like an "exception to policy" as well- yet the board says "no" even though we have shown proof of the other homes; verified the other homes are not being fined; verified the other homes have approved applications for their doors.
