Worth or Denton but have been considering starting the hunt - only fear is I am just not as familiar with the areas as I am in Dallas now.Really looking for simple, conservative investments that could be bought and held (1% 'rule') in places where I'd have my family live.

Over the weekend I installed a lock on the outdoor hose and informed tenants I would be making visits to check for leaking toilet flappers etc.After word got around I was contacted by one of the tenants to inform me that the one unit that has in-unit laundry (preexisting when I bought the property last Nov) has been running the washer at least once a day.

and one guy said he wanted to buy and actually asker to finance 15k. smh. seller wasn't gonna wait for 9k. one of the buyers was a real estate agent. and he was just coming to look for his out of state buyers cuz he said it was something they may be interested in. but after coming. he said something about a non profit had bought it prior to my seller owning it. and something about the next buyer not being about to sell it for too much because of that. which i have never heard of before. have u

They may even require that the buyer goes through a broker.I have a VA loan and when we bought our house we had to pay $1k for an inspection and then the VA came out to look at the house.

@Tyler - I took Roy's advice and did NOT buy in Saint John as cheap isn't a deal always. ya its cheap, and as he told me lots of out of towners come in, and then don't do well.go look to a town that's bustling - saint john is a dump in the under 100K areas - I go there 3 times a year for work, and heeded to the advice, and bought Ontario instead (not saying NB is bad, just I have boots here in Ont)
