Since it was your primary home to start, I believe if you re-occupy the property you can build back up to requalifying (2 of 5 years).If you are talking about property taxes, those don't change just because you rented it.From you put the property into service as a rental (i.e. when its ready to be rented / when you started advertising), you basically start your accounting records as its a rental.

Personally, I would see if you can do a short term rental and hire someone to manage, that way you dont have to worry about no eviction and can get the unit back on the market to rent when rents go back up
