I’m a working American with a $X IRA just trying to get to an account balance I can retire on.

This kinda achieves a few things: 1.

In order to achieve my desired location, and not break the bank, it seems that I would need to possibly buy a property with potential as an ADU. 

Basically, here is where I am getting messed up:Scenario 1: All renovation work hired outPurchase: $50,000Renovations: $50,000Total Investment: $100,000Liability: $100,000 (private credit line)Equity: $0If the property cash flows $2000 and I pay down $2000 in principal after the first year, I have $4,000 in equity on my balance sheet after year 1. 

You can put some of your money to work while you decide how/where you want to invest the balance.

Rather, as I laid out earlier, it needs to be a combination of solutions focused on balancing the reasonable interests of all sides.Also while I do agree Bill that some people can vote with their feet - in real life that proves far more difficult than it sounds.   

Sept to November would be 3 months x 150 would be $450 - $850 so balance returned to them would be $400.00

You hope they're the best at their jobs because sometimes it's your life in the balance.
