Hey everyone, this is my first time posting in the community, so apologies in advanced if I violate any social norms here.As I understand, selling a personal property allows for no capital gains taxes to be paid on the first 250k profit from the sale.

They wanted to buy a way bigger house than their current big house and they decided to keep it.As they rented it after 3 weeks to doctors, then as @matthewpaul pointed out, they bought a house and moved out after 1 year.It took them 3 months to rent it, a lot of stress during that 3 months.
