These properties are not in desirable areas but still seem to cash flow.

Doable but inconvenient and unneccessary.

The renters pool can be challenging but there are still cash flowing opportunities especially if you buy multi- family houses that need some sweat equity.

Would I vote for policies that I think hurt tenants and limit housing supply? 

Bad from  return standpoint, but good from a retirement view.4.
