I’d love to buy in the city but only seems feasible if you assume continued appreciation.

I continued looking at houses even though I didn't think I'd be ready to find my next property anytime soon as I had completed all the renovations on the first property myself while being full-time active duty military.

But in addition, getting started doesn't get any less confusing even if you have money saved up so do what you can to continue to learn.
