Letting Tenants Paint?
28 July 2015 | 16 replies
Naturally we are not enthusiastic to paint units in one-off colour schemes.Usually once or twice a year we get a tenant who asks to paint a room (usually a bedroom) or, occasionally, most of the unit, colours of their choosing.

Why Brethren of the Buy & Beholders Church want to burn a heretic

I utilized this very method for well over 30 years - not earning any assessable income during that time and periodically either borrowed against appreciated assets and/or occasionally cashing in some gains where there was no tax on the profits (usually a residence)Some Life Insurance products can also be used - in conjunction with retirement planning.

Property taxes in Cleveland, Ohio.....why so high?
20 March 2018 | 22 replies
Terry:One of the reasons that taxes are so high in relation to the value of the property is that the properties are worth significantly less than in other parts of the country.2% taxes on a $1mm property are 20k a year...Taxes on a $80k property at 2% would only be $1,600 a year.Another HUGE problem is that a LOT of these mid-western cities have BLOATED government structures....they are burning money on education, they have a LOT of retired workers with underfunded pensions, they have LOTS of current workers that are not very efficient. It is a huge problem that is going to get bigger/more attention in the near future.
