Should I be buying under an LLC?

My friend wants to give 100K loan to my LLC from his LLC (no interest) .

I would like to get a home equity loan or line of credit but the house is titled in the LLC's name so its a commercial loan. 

Since there is no custodial requirement for the 401k, you don't need the additional expense and administration of an LLC to obtain checkbook control.

The LLC is great for asset protection.

How do you setup your LLC as real estate investor so if there is problem with a particular property that leads to legal liability, only that property will be at risk instead ?

Hi all,A group of friends and I are looking to invest because individually none of us have the funds to make the investment on our own, so we are putting out money together to make the investment.The question is do we need to set up an LLC or LLP in order to do this?
