I'm amazed that so many people believe this.To set the record straight, it is true that, if you want to buy property in the so-called "forbidden zone (within 100 kms from an international border or 50 kms from a coastline), you have to own it through a fideicomiso (bank trust) or a Mexican corporation (a corporation is better if you own more than two properties).

You use Cap Rates to figure out which Investment is better than the other.Eventually, if you go further, you wind up learning Internal Rate of Return (IRR), which really helps you completely understand your investments over the next 10 years.Hopefully this helps.

While it's possible the lender has an internal overlay that was just added, there is no rule that was placed in effect with Fannie Mae.If this is a new internal overlay with the lender, just switch lenders.
