Hi Rebecca, Glad you asked the question I’ve been looking and wondering the same thing.I live and invest in Boston but my family originates from the West Coast side of Puerto Rico and for a couple of years now I have been considering investing in short term rentals on that side of the island (Isabela, Aguadilla, & Rincon).

Rhode island is big on that.

If you want an ocean feel without as much fog, rain, or commute- I like Whidbey Island.

You could still leave islands of carpet for the bedrooms.

Two of those are in a beach side barrier island location that is in high demand, and I use those two for vacation rentals.

Criticism is certainly welcomed, but I'm not sure how those comments give any assistance to the original poster looking for an honest opinion.You'd think someone living on an island would be a bit less cynical.
