While landlords don't have to comply with such rules, it's a good model to look at when setting your own tenant criteria and for determining what type of convictions carry weight when you are deciding to enter into a financial agreement with a person.

Maybe distribute flyers throughout the neighborhood that code enforcement with officials will be monitoring the neighborhood for the next 2 months for the "neighborhood watch" and reporting violations to the police, housing authority, census, DHS ...etc.

although I like most of the shows I've seen there so maybe that doesn't hold as much weight.

When I'm training someone at my job, I show them once or twice and then monitor them doing it a few times.

While renting you could monitor any movement by placing markings and measuring crack widths, and by stringing line attached to house that represent the current slope and independent horizontal string line with markings where measurments are taken.
