I suspect this was due to a combination of the relatively small town, and the uniqueness of the property in its area (i.e. it's a 16-unit multi-family, not a 2- or 3-BR SFH).

@Bryan MitchellI'd go with concrete for durability, price, AND uniqueness that can set your unit apart from the others.

The tax credit is part of the equation of course but that's not unique to solar as every form of energy is heavily subsidized.

Also there isn't going to be a trade secret in your math if you are looking at rental properties that a realtor could steal, same with flips, but flips are more unique every time.

Systems are important for scale, but your needs and expectations are unique to you.

Additional info: Nice area, unique "condo" but standalone/no shared walls with a fenced yard near the green area and pool.
