I'd also recommend taking a trip to Indy to know what you're getting into or who you're planning to have as your team.

Like @Paul Amegatcher, or my other half, @Darrin Carey.Since you are local, I would suggest you take a leisurely drive on a couple different days to check out the various neighborhoods (I'd make one of those trips on a Saturday night).

People are booking the next vacations or last minute booking a trip that they regretfully didn't sooner if they have later spring break. 

What if someone is hit by a bus.

You almost always have to make a trip to the store for each project you do (so it seems)... so just plan on having to pick up tools as you get started.All the best!

I would agree with @Adam Sankowski, just an initial fact finding trip would give you a lot of peace of mind and get a genuine feel for the city and areas you're looking to purchase. 

Most likely the state where the property is located is where lawsuits would be brought if they are something for personal injury like a trip and fall or something of that nature because the “cause of action” arose in that state.

There should be no safety hazards, especially tripping hazards, but also exposed sharp edges or plate glass; inadequate or poorly repaired/modified electrical systems; railings, stairs, and decks need to be safe and secure; all windows and doors should operate as intended.
