This is an old post with the OG poster not returning to date.In my opinion, any such arrangement is filled with risks for the money partner and splitting profits 50/50 is so far more beneficial to the GC than the investor.

I'd chat with your tax person on this, and...maybe get  a few second opinions to ensure it's being reported correctly.
