If I was your brother getting my REI portfolio started, is there any advice, strategies, links, literature, articles, or people to follow that you would recommend for someone extremely leery of financial risk?

I just joined the BiggerPockets forum and I am excited to be part of such a dynamic and intelligent group of people.

I would also love any advice people have from working with creative financing in similar situations. 

So many people get suckered into these "deals".

Just was curious of other people’s experiences.

With so many new devices that people use, I tpically have 100amp as a minimum.

This is a great place to learn and to connect with people so take advantage of all the great resources.

Ask this question to the local people in your area.  

Ie I live in a town of about 5000 people, but it is 5 minutes from a city of 100K.
