We have visibility that we will be staying in this area for at least the next 7 years.Background:We both work in techWe have about 500k invested in stock (not including 401k)We have about 100k in cash equivalentsWe earn a combined income of 550k annually include cash and RSUsWe have no kids and don't have plans for any for the next three years at least.

I value my work, I truly enjoy being there and the process of it.  

None of the work we've done is really visible so there aren't any progress photos to show.We're hoping to save the kitchen cabinets. 

Lots and lots of investors on here, never discount the visibility you create simply by getting involved and using the site tools.

It took 2 years of my life away from what I enjoy which is speaking to teaching real estate ( we fired the GC and I took on the responsibility of running these jobs)  Good learning experience, and I needed a break after the Hedge funds came to Charlotte and cleaned single family homes out.

Better to build your own equity through the debt paydown, enjoy the tax benefits of ownership, and garner the equity of an appreciating asset.
