Then you can go to google earth within the site and check the property.

My new job is one where I travel for several months at a time in the fall and spring every year.

Do you contact homeowners directly if you've found the property on the MLS/sites like redfin, zillow, etc. or do you leave it to the assigned agent?

Are there any laundry hookups or coin op on site? 

I would do as much research on the home as possible in the county appraiser's web site to get an idea of how long ago it was sold for and if there was a mortgage recorded on it.
