Not sure of all of the ins/outs of it, but I just established a "Series LLC", which is popular in real estate investing (my business isn't even REI, yet), because you set up a "parent" and then underneath that, you can set up numerous other companies/brands in a "series".

If I was comparing this to say Memphis or Indy these areas would be B to B - as they are unbelievable Brick structures that have been totally gutted from the studs out and every thing brand new..

I haven't figured out how to apply it to real estate yet, but a small business owner had a mascot that had some brand recognition, and he had a mascot suit he'd occasionally pay someone to wear outside his store.
