The neighborhood is nice with remodeled SFH's being sold for $600-$799k. 

If you remodeled the whole place with finishes to match or exceed the rest of the neighborhood you could possibly get 2200-2400 in rent on each side, the question is how much work is it going to take to get it there?

Looking to remodel and rent the apartments, and renovate and either rent or start up a business (down the road) in the store front.

Other people's remodel/home appreciation will help your home value if you are smallest vs. you are the one who set the market if you are largest home in the neighborhood.For homes over $2.5M+ would likely be the other 1%, buy the largest land in the neighborhood.  

I am new to real estate investing but have been doing research for a couple years now and I just acquired a 3-1,  1,200 sqft Cliffside Condo in North Jersey overlooking the Manhattan skyline but it needs a complete remodel.
