Therefore, I'd probably concentrate using 1/2 of the money to actively pursue deals and use the other 1/2 to invest passively and put food on the table.

I was more so asking what would the difference be and what your group would offer.A couple of clarifications.The WNY REI group does charge a membership and last I knew it was only $80 for the year with that though they did provide food at the end of each meeting.The exchangers group did not charge.New BP group, also no fees.
