There are obviously other concerns as well and others have already touched on them, but there is simply no replacement for someone that knows what they're doing and can prove it with evidence from past deals.

While not suggesting you allow yourself to be walked over, since you owe them the money simply pay that, and tell them to keep in touch that you have find out what is happening from the insurance company (and that can take some time).

Problem is she is not the one who has legal authority to sell the home but the person that does have legal authority  has not involved she has not been able to get in touch with him.
