Some millennials we know spend every penny they earn traveling the world.

Or realize with the change in ownership you have to bring items up to code (my state requires a walk through from the fire marshal - I remember just updating smoke detectors to hard wired, and putting in fire rated doors cost me a few thousand, on a 5 unit place).

I grew up in Queens so I'm a Mets fan, love traveling, coffee, beer, and tacos.

We would also like this venture to provide us the opportunity to retire early, LIVE a financially free life and travel the world.

People don't come to a lake house in the winter to watch the ice floe travel back and forth.The other thing that will determine occupancy is quality of stay.

I live and work out of our Denver office, but travel frequently and have lots of family on the south shore. 

I know it's not the answer you are looking for but this will save you from spending a ton of money on travels and a property. 

We drive to the rental property, so our travel expenses our minimal.

good advice if you don't travel often or want to free up your time to focus on other business ventures. if you want to promote yourself out of the mailroom, then look at local STR management companies.
