The other option is to live there for another year (sorry) and then sell, any gain you earn would be tax-free under the Sec 121 exemption - up to 250k for a single filer or 500k for a married couple filing jointly.

If you are married (assume so from the "we" wording), then you will get $500k worth of gain tax free ... you may need to pay taxes on any gain above that ... hold onto those other multi-plexes if they are performing.
